60th Monte-Carlo Television Festival announces winners of the celebrated Golden Nymph Awards 2021 in unique Awards Ceremony

Following a Red Carpet* reception, the winners of the prestigious Golden Nymph Awards were announced this evening in a glittering and unique Awards Ceremony at the 60th Monte-Carlo Television Festival. The winners**, which were selected from 27 nominated programs from 14 countries across the Prince Rainier III Special Prize, News and Fiction categories as well as a number of accolades including the Monaco Red Cross Prize and the AMADE Prize, were presented with their awards at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco.

During the Ceremony, the Crystal Nymph Award, given to an actor to celebrate an outstanding body of work, was presented to Tchéky Karyo by Honorary President H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.

This year, for the 60th anniversary of the Festival, the Awards Ceremony offered a dazzling first - unique holographic technology animation. A partly surreal décor, featuring a multitude of screens tracing the history of television, allowed the award winners and presenters who were not able to attend due to travel restrictions, to be projected as holograms, creating a fascinating immersive experience. After being filmed life-size from their homes using creative 3D technology, they were able to appear and interact on stage in a sensational, futuristic way.

H.S.H. Prince Albert II, Honorary President of the Festival, stated, « This 60th Monte-Carlo Television Festival has been a successful edition not only because of the remarkable and diverse talent who have joined us from around the world, but also in regards of the exceptional circumstances of the health crisis surrounding its organization. » and adding « I would like to congratulate the winners of the Golden Nymph Awards and Tchéky Karyo, recipient of the Crystal Nymph distinction, a recognized professional whose acting career has made an outstanding contribution to the world of television ».
