SPORTEL Awards reveals the laureates of its 2021 edition!

Under the Honorary Presidency of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, the SPORTEL Awards Ceremony took place on Tuesday 5 October in the Prince Pierre Room of the Grimaldi Forum, rewarding the most beautiful sports sequences and the best sports book of the year, in front of a prestigious audience of champions and personalities from the sport's world.

The Jury, chaired by world athletics champion Muriel Hurtis and composed of Samir Aït Saïd, Jacques Cardoze, Ciryl Gane, Julie Gautier, Astrid Guyart, S.E. Mme Yvette Lambin-Berti and Allison Pineau, had to choose between the numerous entries in competition, during intense debates.

During the Ceremony, numerous French medalists from the Tokyo Olympics and great champions took to the stage to present the Georges Bertellotti Golden Podiums to the winners of this 2021 edition. In addition, the Renaud de Laborderie Book Prize, qwhich rewards the most beautiful illustrated work honoring sports photography, was awarded to « Le plus grand livre de basketball de tous les temps (selon Trashtalk) », from Trashtalk, Marabout editions.

Peter Schmeichel, who was unable to attend the award ceremony, left a message thanking SPORTEL Awards for presenting him with the Autobiography Award for his book « ONE : My autobiography ». Finally, H.S.H Prince Albert II presented the Jury Special Prize to Lyes Houhou and Arnaud Bonnin, Canal + for « Faut qu’on parle ».

The memorable evening concluded this beautiful edition of SPORTEL Awards, which once again honored the greatest sports champions as well as celebrated the performances of twenty French medalists from the Tokyo Olympics, who were in attendance.

For three days, red carpets, photocalls, preview screenings, autograph sessions and encounters in various Monegasque sports clubs gave the public the opportunity to experience unique moments with their champions

A rich and vibrant programme: Clarisse Agbegnenou, double gold medalist in Judo at the last Olympics in Tokyo, came to sign her book « Combattre pour être soi » and Kevin Rolland, the world freestyle ski champion, presented his new documentary « Résilience ».

Once again, this year two other events were co-organised. A collaboration with Webedia and the Monaco eSports Federation, SPORTEL Awards saw, for the second year in a row, the victory of Misfits Premier following the thrilling final (3-2) of the French League of Legends (LFL)..

For boxing fans, an exclusive Boxing Gala was organised at the end of the event featuring the French Middleweight Championship between Moughit EL MOUTAOUAKIL aka Guito et Matteo HACHE.
