The international television industry gathers in Monaco: The Monte-Carlo Television Festival turns 60

The world’s best television series, films, documentaries and news coverage to be honored on the shores of Monaco June 18-22, 2021.

The Monte-Carlo Television Festival has announced a call for entries for the prestigious Golden Nymph Awards, part of the 60th anniversary celebration of the international Television Festival. Following a COVID-19-related break in 2020, the tradition-steeped festival will be back from June 18-22, 2021, including an expanded business track for entertainment industry professionals.

This year, six Golden Nymphs will be awarded in the Fiction category, including Best Film, Best Series, Best Creation, Best Actress, Best Actor and the Jury Special Prize.

Breaking Bad, Borgen, Casa de Papel, The End of The F***ing World, Escape at Dannemora et On the Spectrum are among the past fiction programs honored at the Festival. Dame Helen Mirren, Michael C. Hall, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Tina Fey, Elisabeth Moss, Kim Bodnia, Ewan McGregor and Patricia Arquette are among the actors and actresses honored.

In the News category, four Golden Nymphs will be awarded for categories including Best News Coverage, Best News Documentary, Best Documentary Film and the Jury Special Prize.

In partnership with Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the prestigious Prince Rainier III Special Prize, awarded annually to a documentary addressing important environmental issues, constitutes now a separate category and requires a specific registration.

Additional competition prizes related to subject matter of a humanitarian nature include the Prize of the Red Cross, the SIGNIS Prize and the AMADE Prize.

« The television landscape of today is unrecognizable from the one that existed at the inception of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival 60 years ago. From the record volume of quality content produced annually by networks, studios and streamers, to the unique ways in which viewers now consume their content, our festival has grown with and reflects that evolution. However, one constant has remained throughout the six decades, and that is our commitment to showcase and honour the greatest programs and actors of the day. »
