SPORTEL Awards 2021, a symbol of excellence

SPORTEL Monaco, the international event that rewards the most outstanding sports footage of the year and honours the greatest champions, will be held from 3 to 5 octobre at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, under the Honorary Presidency of H.S.H. Prince Albert II.

This renowned cultural event, a not-to-be missed rendez-vous for top athletes who come to meet their fans, will conclude with the famous awards ceremony on Tuesday, 5 October, in the Prince Pierre Room.

As a tribute to all of the disciplines, the most beautiful footage in competition will be awarded the Georges Bertellotti Golden Podium Awards and the public will be able to relive this year’s greatest moments of emotion.

Numerous events have been announced for the 2021 event and the guest list continues to grow: Olympic medallists, world champions and record holders will all walk the red carpet at the Grimaldi Forum to attend the ceremony.

During the evening, the Autobiography Award will be presented to former Danish international footballer Peter Schmeichel, considered the greatest goalkeeper of all time. A Member of the Order of the British Empire, he is one of the most decorated players with 23 major titles and an outstanding career at Manchester United, details of which are collected in his book « ONE : My autobiography ».

Numerous public events will highlight SPORTEL Awards 2021, such as the book signing by judoka Clarisse Agbegnenou, gold medallist at the last Olympics in Tokyo, who will come to present her book « Combattre pour être soi », the preview screening followed by a debate, of the documentary « Résilience » about Kevin Rolland, the famous world champion freestyle skier, known as the "Flying French Man", and various encounters with the high level athletes in attendance.

The line-up of champions will delight the fans: Olympic champion, 110-meter hurdle record holder and former sports minister Guy Drut, Romain Cannone, Olympic fencing champion; Olympic karate champion Steven Da Costa, Charlotte Lembach, Olympic vice-champion and world fencing champion, Valériane Ayayi, professional basketball player and Tokyo bronze medallis, Noémie Allabert, world athletic strength vice-champion; world cycling runner-up Marion Clignet, Marlène Harnois, Olympic taekwondo medallist, Fanny Horta, Olympic rugby medallist, Paula Radcliffe, marathon world record holder, Cédric Doumbe, kick-boxing champion, Riccardo Patrese, former F1 driver, Emilie Le Pennec, Olympic gymnastics champion, Virginie Dedieu, world champion in synchronized swimming, Florence Masnada, Alpine skiing triple bronze medalist at the Olympic Games and World Championships, Malia Metella, Olympic vice-champion in swimming, Yoann Huget, former French international rugby player,... and many others ! In this eventful programme a day dedicated to esports, organised in collaboration with Webedia and the Monaco eSport Federation, will be held on Monday, 4 October, with the League of Legends French Championship Final (LFL) between "Misfits Premier", the titleholder of last year's edition who won in the Principality of Monaco, and "Karmine Corp".
